You are hereChris Schwenker
Chris is a physical therapist who has been in private practice since 1999. After completing his undergraduate education at Brandeis University where he was recruited and played Div. 3 soccer for 'the Judges' he was accepted to SUNY Stony Brook. Chris graduated with a physical therapy degree in 1997 and commenced his career in orthopedics and sports medicine. Chris founded Complete Rehab & Sport, an outpatient physical therapy private practice located in East Patchogue, NY, in 2003 whereupon he has been able to cultivate his expertise in sports related rehabilitation and training.
Chris happened upon cycling as a way to maximize his fitness. As a lifelong 'gym rat', Chris found cycling a great adjunct to weight training. As time went on, and he was no longer willing to jeopardize his practice by the prospect of becoming injured during the performance of contact sports (i.e. soccer), he longed for a way to satisfy his competitive urges. Cycling has come to fill this void.
In 2009, Chris' first full year of racing, he participated in ~25 races throughout Long Island, NYC and the Northeast. Chris has made significant progress with respect to strength and experience and looks forward to 2010. Although he enjoys participation in a variety of race formats, New England's epic hilly road races are what he enjoys the most and suit his riding style.
Chris feels that the Green Arm Bandits are a great group of guys. It is nice knowing that you are surrounded in the peleton by teammates who are as interested in your safety and success as they are in their own. Who could ask for anything more?
