Saturday May 7th 3 GAB's George, Karl and Percy traveled to Lancaster, PA for the Turkey Hill Classics, starting in the CAT 3/4 field. A notch too my for myself not yet a CAT 3 rider -- getting the best out of it as a training race/ride, unlucky day for Karl with a flat with one lap to go just George finished the race. However, was great day and excellent race, fun either way!

Moving in at the Beattie Inn near Salem, NY Saturday afternoon. Team dinner with a few additional guest riders and again C. Grady and buddy... a lot of small talk.
Big thanks to Mrs. Schwenker for all the outstanding dinner preparations!
No podium, but still two places in top twenty: 12th for Mike -- congratulations!! -- and 17th for Percy.

5 East End riders including one GAB on the West/Pacific Coast riding 340 miles and climbing 39'000 foot of the Santa Monika Mountains in five days within a one week Climbing Camp by Cycling Escapes. The rides were featuring breathtaking Canyon Roads as climbs and descents including climbs of the tour of California! Not skipping climbs and descents on Decker, Tuna Cyn, Las Flores and many more.
The group with about 18 riders from Alaska, Connecticut, New York/LI, Colorado and a few other origins mostly started together and split up in a few sub groups quickly at the climbs. Abilities ranged from CAT-1 racers to CAT-4's and more 'casual' riders. And our Pro Racer guide Eric from Team Exergy.

I intended on doing the Plainville races, but due to a Bikereg snafu I was not registered. Wanting to get back early, and not wanting to do all that driving by myself, I settled on doing the Branchbrook races in Newark. It was my first time there. I registered for the Master 35+ and P123 races. Jeff Cline from Axis went on the first lap. He soloed away from the field for several laps before a second group developed and bridged to him. I missed the break. I was staying up front and just slipped back for a little rest when they went. Oh well.
The 2011 GAB Season Kick Off Meeting, held January 30th, was successful in uniting the team behind our mission statement and outlining training and racing plans. Perhaps most exciting, however, was the announcement of the Green Arm Bandits Cycling Team Sponsors/Partners for 2011. The GAB's are proud to announce the renewal of Mike's Tires Inc. as a second year top tier sponsor. New top tier sponsors for 2011 include the Law Firm of Keahon, Fleischer, Duncan, and Ferrante. Other renewing sponsors include: Complete Rehab & Sport, The Kreb Cycle, Mt.
This Saturday Percy went to the Staten Island CX race, a little attempt representing the GABs. However, this was his first CX race since two years and he again went with his for Cross converted MTB. Mostly to take part in it, have fun plus get a little more Cross experience.
