Nancy Morgenstern Memorial Fall Road Race
This Sunday four of the GAB team went to the Nancy Morgenstern Memorial -- also known as Bear Mountain -- Road Race.
Here the CAT4B just starting into the race, GABs Kris and myself in front right (in riding direction):
Chris Thater Memorial
We set out saturday morning for Binghamton, Larry & Myself. We made it as far as the Cross Bronx where we were rearended. The worst part of the collision was that we had our bikes on the hitch mounted rack. There was no damage to the car, but our bikes are toast. After waiting 3 hours for the police to arrive and fill out a report, we headed home, very disappointed. So this has brought an end to my racing season. It is time for a few hikes, work around the house, and long slow fall rides. I would like to thank my new teamates for a great year! See you soon.
Kissena Twilight Series
Karl and Percy went this Wednesday evening again to the Kissena Velodrome Twilight Series having some fun. Just the second time at all on the track for me -- just about to figure it out. Karl did very good again.

Kreb Cycle Friday Night Series Kid's Race and Circuit
The usual friday races were delayed a little this week to allow the kids to get in the act. It was great to see the kids all suited up ready to have at it. They ran 2 races, one for the younger, one for the older children. The smaller kids were guided around the course by Gary Giachetto. The group of three made fast work of their lap, with all finishing strongly. The older kids were guided around the course by Ed C. & Dennis. Again, they all finished strongly. Medals were awarded to all participants. Future GAB, Conor Schwenker, won decisively behind a strong solo effort.
Friday Night Kreb Race-July 30th Circuit Race
The Green Arm Bandits were well represented at this Friday Night Kreb Cycle Race, consisting of members Craig, Karl, Owen, Rob, Percy, George, and Chris. The team agreed to race aggressively feeling that our best chance for a positive outcome was to position one or more of us in a successful break. Multiple attacks were covered or chased down by the field. This softened the group and allowed Owen to enter a selection of ~6 in the waning stages. Percy realized the opportunity and was successful in a valiant solo bridge effort. The break stayed away and resulted in placings for Owen and Percy, and a solid showing for the GAB's.
