I know things are tough out there , but how in the world does Nicholas Cage have a house going into foreclosure? I mean, this guy has been in more movies than Kevin Bacon. Seriously, this guy has probably been in 20 movies over the last 5 years. Most of them sucked, but still, It's pretty hard for me to feel bad for this guy.

What I feel bad about, is this Clown Patterson trying to close down state parks to help close the Budget. Closing Parks...are they kidding me, why don't they trim the over elected goverment by about 25%. That should help close the deficit and we wont miss that dead weight. Or how about trimming some of the town workers...talk about a joke. I was riding Monday morning and I passed a crew of 7 town worker fixing some potholes, I thought...good to see the tax proceeds going to use, however, when I came back an hour and half later, they were still fixing the same pothole. WTF!! Besides, only one was working , while 6 other stiffs stood by and watched. Thats pathetic.I'm sure they were getting ready for their 2 hour lunch and maybe another hour before another break and then they probably head back after another tough day on the job...give me a break.

I mean, I just delivered a vehicle to a nice family and I just found out the state 'laid off his wife' She'a a teacher for autistic childern, yeah, thats a position that should be eliminated. That's the best they can propose...lay off teachers and close state parks. Whats next...they shorten the school year to save a few bucks. I am telling you , we are regressing as a society. I am actually afraid of things to come for my soon to be 3 year old son Justin. It reminds me when the school budgets would not pass and the first thing that would get cut...was the buses! Thats bullshit.

Anyhow,

I mentioned how I rode at Rocky Point yesterday, I have to say..felt good to get on my Specialized S-Works Hard tail. I think I only rode this bike once or twice in the last 2 years. Thats insane, I used to ride the crap out of this bike, but I have been consumed with the road riding last few years so I rarely get to take this bike out and play. I really missed riding this bike, it's very light and only likes to be ridden 'wide open' Problem is, my bike handling was horrible. I wound up getting the shit beat out of me as I overshot turns, cut corners too tight... leading to me bashing both of my shoulders and nearly endowing a couple times and I slid out and lost traction like I was riding on ice. But , it was fun and I should make more of an attempt to ride it in the future.

Well, I set out for my Saturday Time Trial, it's roughly a 10 mile loop. Last week, I posted my best time all year, I was not expecting similar results this morning as there was strong winds out of the southwest and that would really impair my speed. So, instead of concentraing on speed, I made sure to concentrate on effort. I mean, does it really matter what time I ride as much as the effort put out. So, I completed my loop and then rode easy for another 45 minutes. I tell you, riding early in the morning is just a great way to start any day. Unfortunatly, my scheule doen't normally permit that, so I am forced to ride much later in the day with much more traffic on the road. Oh well...it is what it is.

Well as I am finishing this...my teamates are probably lining up right now getting ready for the Tour of Battenkill. It is a brutal race with lot's of climbing and gravel roads which make for some sketchy descents. Hopefully, they will enjoy a great ride and race very hard. This type of road race is one I need to make sure I am a part of next year...god willing.

Tommorow looks like I will get in a long day on the bike as I will try to get in about 80 miles or so.
