This picture should have a disclaimer - "Don't try this at home!".
The sick logic I had to take this picture by the downed tree holding up the power line on Wading River Road in Manorville was that the power line had held that tree for at least 5 hours.
It was very unlikely to drop now. I also had visions of executing the
fastest clip in of my shoes to get the metal of the shoe clip off the ground ASAP.
Yes I know, like we could really move faster than electricity!
You will notice that Tom, furthest on the right is ducking in the picture.
As we quickly left I recalled that recently a man in NYC had died by simply stepping on a man whole cover that had eroded to the point where the next person to step on it would fall through.
Yes, we love racing. But there are some pretty cool and challenging training rides that
make riding satisfying all year.
The hardest bike training is in cold rain. Throw in a flat tire, some mechanical issues, the worst pot holes of the year, downed trees, branches and power lines, stops for more fuel and this 50 mile training ride turned in to a 4 hour epic.
