I think it was 1983, I was stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I was assigned to the 82nd Airborne division. Back then there was no CNN, Fox New's chanel and MTV played Music Video's.

After writing yesterday's tale of the "rites of passage" , it got me thinking into my own entry to this sport. It brought me back to 'Day 1' of my new found sport.

What to do?

53km, 1h28 total...... Road Ride Lunch with Trevor and Ed. What a nice day again, guess right now can not ask for any better. Some where in the 50ties. GAB Shorts, long sleeved GAB jersey with only light sleeveless mesh undergarment. Quite good NE wind. Flying out sitting on Trevors wheel with Ed at 40km/h....

I think it might have been 1974, I was 10 years old and I joined the "South Ozone Park Little League". Things were different back then, Lacrosse wasn't around, Youth Athletic Leagues were very few and far between.
