What does DOING THE RIGHT THING look like to you?

Contador's attack of Schleck after a dropped chain today reminded me of choices we all face at key moments in competition or life. It is also never a super clear black and white decision or intention to make the correct choice.

I was favored to win my high school state track championship in the 200 yard dash.
The state championship is at the end of the season and you have already established your personal records. You know how good your times are versus the competition months in advance of the end of the season.

Cycling and Doping- I Dont Give A ......

20 years ago I sat in a court room supporting my life long friend who was facing 20 years in jail for stealing from drug dealers while he was an undercover cop.
I realized that day that while I wished he did not do it, I could with a clear conscience say " I support him and remain his friend even if he did do it "

3/28 Race Blog

Observations - Riding is fun but racing is an adrenal rush that kicks your butt and humbles you many times over. There are many cliche ways of saying this regarding any sport but likely never more true when trying to get better at racing -
You better get accustomed to "perceived-failure" and enjoying the journey.
Success does not come easy or fast for many of us. There is a scene from the movie Field of Dreams where Doc Graham has to step off the field in order to transform from being a kid playing baseball in to a doctor to help the choking girl.
